Writer Steve Stein's autobiographical first novel. In this completed novelized version of the screenplay, Stein fondly remembers his Brooklyn youth. The screenplay was a finalist in The Sundance Film festivals Screenwriters Lab Competition.It's the summer of 1969, and three buddies turn 18 stumbling into adulthood alternating the seriousness and responsibility of Viet Nam with carefree time at their local park adjacent to the Boardwalk in Brighton Beach/Coney Island.
