Viney Haverford always told her daughters to "be sweet," but the only thing sweet about Charlene is her sweet tooth and cravings for her family's incomparable maple syrup. Little sister Janni is the sweet one, but is too tightfisted and nearly botches the plans for her parents' 50th anniversary bash when Charlene comes home to save the party and show the local gossips she isn't the loser they think she is.
